Daniel Hayes Biography
Daniel Hayes Biography
HAYES, Daniel 1952-
PERSONAL
Born April 17, 1952, in Troy, NY; son of Thomas Robert (a dairy farmer) and Mary (Welch) Hayes.
Education: State University of New York at Plattsburgh, B.S., 1973; State University of New York at Albany, M.S., 1982.
Daniel Hayes lives on the family farm where he grew up in Upstate New York, at the southern end of scenic Washington County. Born April 17th, 1952, he attended school in Greenwich, New York, which became the fictional village of Wakefield in his novels. Having retired from many years of teaching English at Troy High School and Creative Writing at Hudson Valley Community College, he now spends his time traveling, creating videos for his Adventures with Hayeski YouTube channel, and philosophizing about life. His goal, in addition to writing more books (a fifth, My Kind of Crazy, is nearly ready to go!), is to someday see film or TV versions of his novels. Having fielded a number of queries from various producers over the years, he hopes, eventually, to be able to put Tyler and Lymie and the rest of his cast of characters up on the big screen. (He’d even settle for the small screen!) Should this happen, due to his considerable acting skills, he feels he should, at the very least, be considered for the role of the dead body in The Trouble with Lemons. He’s already perfecting his ability to float face down for extended periods.
